Welcome to the local montain rescue team of Mürzzuschlag!
March 8th, 1896 was the key date of the Austrian Montain Rescue. Because of an serious accident on the Rax mountain all members of the mountain clubs decided to build an alpine rescue institution. So called "local sites" has been established, in the same year also the montain rescue team (MRT) of Mürzzuschlag, a member team of the Austrian Montain Rescue. 1906 there were already 173 rescue teams in the Eastern Alps active.

25.7.25: Operation on the Stuhleck
A person fell while looking for mushrooms and suffered a fracture to their left ankle. After first aid at the scene of the accident, she was roped down to the path below through the steep forest terrain on a stretcher and handed over to the Red Cross
24.6.25: Mission on the Rax
Search operation for a missing mountaineer in the area of "Zahmes Gamseck". An alpinist, who had set off on a tour in the early hours of the morning, was reported missing by his wife. After a search flight with the police helicopter unfortunately did not yield any results, mountain rescuers of our local rescue team and the neighboring Reichenau mountain rescue team set out to search for the missing man. Shortly before nightfall, the good news was that the mountain hiker had arrived unharmed at the Habsburghaus after a somewhat longer climb than planned.
21.4.25: Rescue on the Rax
While climbing up the "Fuchslochsteig" on the Rax, a mountaineer has held on to a larger stone. This came loose and fell on his leg, causing a fracture. He was rescued by the C3 helicopter by means of a rope rescue and flown to Wr. Neustadt Regional Hospital. 8 team members were on standby.
11.4.25: Operation at the "Kampalpe"
While descending from the Kampalpe today, a hiker fell so badly that she injured her ankle. After first aid by our medical team, she was transported by stretcher to a forest road, where she was handed over to the Red Cross emergency medical team.
6.4.25:Mission on the Rax
A young man complained of chest pains and dizziness during the ascent just below the Rax plateau. As the rescue helicopter was unable to reach the casualty directly due to the strong wind, he had to be brought to a suitable intermediate landing site by the mountain rescue team using a stretcher. There he was handed over to the C17 team. See photos.
